What constitutes CrossFit?

CrossFit is characterised by the workouts which change daily and can be taylored to help you achieve your fitness goals.

CrossFit workouts take the form of high intensity, interval style training designed to promote functional fitness. Many workouts feature variations of squats, push-ups, and weight lifting that last for predetermined amounts of time rather than a prescribed number of reps.

What is the WOD?

CrossFit is designed around the WOD - the Workout of the Day. The daily, free, workout can be found on the CrossFit website complete with a guide to any technical terms used and a list of substitutions to allow trainees to taylor the workouts to their personal level. “CrossFit is universally scalable and modifiable for all fitness levels, so it can be tailored to meet your goals and current fitness level,” says Tracey Magee, owner and head coach of CrossFit Clan Performance Center.
